Eldon C. “Shorty” Miller

Eldon C. “Shorty” Miller, 58, of Belmont, Wisconsin, died on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Lafayette Manor, Darlington. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Pleasant View Methodist Church, rural Belmont. Pastor Russell Rossdeutscher will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010 at the Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, or from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. The Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home, Platteville, is serving the family. “Shorty” was born on June 29, 1951 in Belmont, Wisconsin, the son of Dwight and Helen (Speth) Miller. He graduated from Belmont High School in 1969. On August 11, 1984 he was married to Georgine Broughton in Hollandale, Wisconsin. Shorty worked on the family farm. He was a dairy farmer and bought and sold goats. Shorty currently was a self employed truck driver. He attended auctioneer school and enjoyed going to auctions. Shorty was a horseman going to sales and shows, he also took great pride in raising and driving his Belgian Horses. Shorty especially loved to spend time with his children. He is survived by three children, Emily Miller of Sheboygan, WI; Brandon (Joan Wasley) Miller of Belmont; Blake Miller of Belmont; their mother, Georgine of Belmont; one grandson, Camdin; one sister, Bonnie (Mark) Wiegel of Jefferson, WI; two brothers, Curt (Debbie) Miller and Rockie Miller all of Belmont; special caregiver, Donna Zee; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
