Joyce was born in Platteville, WI, the daughter of Harold and Wilma (Helling) Rawson, on September 23, 1934. She married her high school sweetheart, LeRoy J. Genthe on September 19, 1953. She worked at Russell Manufacturing as a secretary following high school. When they moved to Cuba City, she worked at Schroeder's Clothing Store before becoming the Cuba City High School's principal's assistant until retirement in 1996. She worked part-time at H&R Block and Rich's Gas Station because she couldn't just be retired. Joyce was an avid reader, loved working on word/search puzzles, volunteered at the Senior Food Kitchen in Cuba City, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, a brother, LaVerne (Ruth) Rawson, Platteville, three children: a son, Randall Genthe, Madison; a daughter, Sandra (Mark) Ambrosius, Brooklyn, WI; a son, Kevin (Colleen) Genthe, Richland Center. Seven grandchildren: Aaron Ambrosius, Luke Genthe, Brenda Ambrosius, Tia Genthe, MaKayla Louis, Taylor Genthe, and Austin Genthe. Joyce was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and a brother, Ronald. She also wants to thank everyone for their love and support to her and her family during this very trying summer.

You will always miss her, you will always want to stop by and that is so painful. I know you have all been there for her and therefore, she taught you well. Hold her in your heart and remember her in your prayer until you meet again.

So sorry to find out that Joyce died, she was like a grandma to me. I always saw her when I went to school in the office and she would always sit outside and tell stories after school. She was always so kind and always happy.
