Nancy L. Myers, 87, of Platteville died on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Manor Care Health Services, Platteville. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October13, 2014 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Platteville. Rev. Joel Voss will officiate. Burial will be at Rock Church Cemetery, Livingston. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, or from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Nancy L. Myers Memorial Fund, which will be allocated for St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Lymphoma Society. Nancy was born on March 19, 1927 in Platteville, the daughter of William and Margaret (Dugdale) Jentz. She was united in marriage to Neal L. Myers on February 24, 1945 in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death in January 1986. Nancy worked for 33 years at Dick's Bakery, Platteville, until she retired. She and Neal farmed in the Livingston, Rewey, and Arthur area for many years. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Platteville. She enjoyed her Livingston card group, gardening, tending to her flowers, collecting porcelain sheep and following the Badgers, Brewers and Packers. She especially loved to spend time with her family, children and grandchildren. She is survived by four children, Douglas (friend, Gloria Schwingel) Myers of Muscoda, WI; Daniel (Barbara) Myers of Mt. Horeb, WI; Karen (Myles) Mullikin of Racine, WI; Mark (Judy) Myers of Rewey, WI; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret “Joyce” McCubbin of Lodi, WI; sister-in-law, Jeanne Engelke of Belmont, WI; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death also by her parents, daughter-in-law, Donna Knutson-Myers and sister, Betty Jentz.
The family wants to THANK all her friends at Bears Court, Platteville Senior Center and Livingston friends for all their prayers and thoughts. Thank you to St. Jude's Hospice and Manor Care for all their care and support.
