Katie was an outstanding, meticulous homemaker & loving mother her entire life. She particularly excelled at baking. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church for 40
years. Katie loved music and German Rhine wine. She is survived by her son, Bruce Broquist, of Eden Prairie, MN, one nephew, Alan (Anita) Broquist of Nashville, TN and one niece, Lynn Broquist of Ithaca, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband, her brother Martin and her parents.

Hello Bruce, I'm saddened to hear of your mothers passing. I have very fond memories of all the times your mother allowed you to host parties for so many of us young teenagers in your basement. It was always a groovy time and Katie was always so warm and friendly to everyone. She was a very kind, gracious and beautiful person. We all so enjoyed her strong accent and occasionally asked her how to say some of our kooky expressions in German which always got your mother laughing. I hope life has been good to you Bruce. May your mother rest in peace and join your father Oliver in heaven. Kind Regards, Mark Adrian, PHS Class of 1974

We are so sorry to hear of the lose of Katie. She was a wonderful person she was also the roommate of our mother Betty Spoerle at the Epione Pavilion Nursing Home up until her passing on March 17th Betty thought the world of Katie in the short time that she knew her. I actually meant Katie swimming at the UWPlatteville she was a sweet lady. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Kathy and Rick Spoerle

Bruce, I am so deeply saddened and so very sorry to hear of you Mother's passing.... I loved your Mom like she was my own and I will miss her deeply. She made my childhood so much happier because I always knew I had two Moms and she always had time for me and gave me 7up and frozen snicker bars when I visited, which was daily:) I have so many wonderful memories of us growing up together and your Father and just all the happy, happy times. Your Mom and mine were the best of friends and now they can be together again all one big family in Heaven! The day was brighter on October 30 in Heaven and I am sure there was dancing and laughter there. She truly was the best Mom one could of ever hoped to have...Love always Amy Brooks Benson..
