A wonderful neighbor and great story teller about things things he did during his life . It was great he caught that ball this summer.

Stan, My condolensces on your Dad's passing. I remember him so very well at our wrestling matches and at church. He sure was a good guy. I know he and my Dad enjoyed watching many wrestling matches over the years. My Mom commented today on how Mel and my Dad would talk about wrestling and other sports at every opportunity. God Bless and wonderful memories comfort you and your family.

I will always reminder Melvin taking me to the one room country school when I first started school. Some times we walked, sometimes we rode his pony. Sorry about your loss.

It was wonderful knowing Melvin. Such a great guy with an easy going personality. It was always enjoyable seeing him and visiting with him at family gatherings. We were especially impressed how he always made time to attend events his children and grandchildren were involved with. Driving distance didn't seem to matter. He and Virginia were always there and made many a late night trip back to Platteville.

dear family.... Got to Platteville and heard of Melvin's death.... Always a great smile.... A good farmer. Best to you all. This growing old is tough stuff! .
