Virginia Kastner

Virginia L. Kastner, 92, of Mineral Point, WI, passed peacefully from this life, on December 2, 2014 at Manor Care of Platteville. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2014 at Lutheran Church of Peace, Platteville. Rev. Jeff Pedersen will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Virginia L. Kastner Memorial Fund. She was born on July 7, 1922 in Potosi, WI to William and Eva Kress. She married Emil Kastner on July 27, 1940. They lived in Platteville for many years where they raised their family. Virginia loved playing poker, bingo & going to the dog track. She enjoyed sitting outside and watching the many hummingbirds that came to spend the summers in her yard. She especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Jessica, and her kitty, Missy. Virginia is survived by her children – Sharon (Frank) Vogt, Bill (Jean Spease), Tom (Martha) and Ted (Jeri). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews, and one sister-in-law, Donna Kress. She was preceded in death by her husband Emil and her 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
