Douglas K. Kuehl, 88, of Platteville, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Rev. Michael Short will officiate. Burial will be at Lima Union Cemetery. Douglas was born on August 30, 1926 in Smelser Twp. to Adolph and Mary (Butson) Kuehl. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After being discharged from the Army he farmed until his retirement in 1997. He is survived by his brother, Merlyn (Viola) Kuehl; sister-in-law, Joan Kuehl; nieces, Kathy (David) Wellsandt and Patty (Danny) Wellsandt; great-nephew, Mitchell (Molly) Wellsandt; and great-niece, Murphy Wellsandt. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gilbert.
