Obituary

Tina Marie Hardy, 52, of Darlington, Wisconsin, died on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Bryan Medical Center, Lincoln, Nebraska, of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Rev. Zayna Thompson will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, or from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Tina Hardy Memorial Fund. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Tina was born on March 7, 1962 in Elgin, Illinois, daughter of Frederick and Jeannine (Mertez) Barnes. Tina grew up in Darlington and was raised by Delores Leibert and Eston Schlappi of Darlington. She graduated from Darlington High School in 1982 and attended Southwest Technical College, Fennimore. She had recently been working for WIS International where she was an auditor. Prior to that she worked at Eagle Window's, Dubuque, Kwik Trip in Platteville, Mineral Point and Prairie du Chien, and Mid Continent Enterprises, Overland Park, Kansas. Tina enjoyed music, karaoke, following the Packers and the Tasmanian devil (Looney Toons). She is survived by her life partner, Laura Thomas; two children, Tonya Hardy and Tyler (Mallory) Hardy and their father, Greg Hardy; Laura's children, Brittany (Michael) Brown and Samantha Thomas; nine grandchildren; Delores Leibert who raised Tina; mother, Jeannine; five sisters, Tammy (Bob) White; Karen Wilson; Anita (Mike) Floen; Sharon (Jim) Simmons; Mary Tyson and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Eston Schlappi who raised her, her father, Fred, and sisters, Johnelle Wade and Alice Wand.

I remember working with Tina at wis and she always knew how to put a smile on your face. She will be missed and my prayers with her family at this time.
