Doris was born on August 28, 1928 in Platteville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Clarence and Mildred (Riege) Spink. She was united in marriage to Ray A. Hill on August 21, 1945 in Platteville. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1976. Doris owned and operated Platteville Tax Service for 20 years. Doris gave a lot of herself to the community through volunteering with the church, Meals on Wheels, and lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, swimming, and cards. She especially enjoyed the many picnics in Potosi along the river with family and friends. She was an avid Badgers, Brewers, and Packers fan and also enjoyed watching tennis. Doris was especially proud to have taught all of her grandchildren how to play Cribbage and King's Corners. She is survived by her seven children, Carol Hill of Madison; Rae Ellen “Rickie” (Marlin) Harms of Cobb, WI; Mary Ann (John) Pringle of Buckeye, AZ; Margaret “Peg” (Mark) Yanke of Green Bay; Joan Hill of Milwaukee; John (Dorothy) Hill of Waunakee, WI; and David Hill of Phoenix, AZ; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul Spink of Madison; and Charles Spink of Brooklyn, NY; sisters-in-law, Jean Ann Duncan of Marshall, IL; and Joyce Austin of Monroe, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Michael Hill, sister, Mary Doescher, and father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Marguerite Hill.
The family would like to give special THANKS to the staff of Park Place Assisted Living, Platteville, and Dr. Jeffrey White for the care they gave their mom.
