Elva Marie Hodgson, 100, of Platteville died on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Gray's Nursing Home, Platteville. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Burial will be at Lima Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, or from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Tuesday at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorials may be made to the Elva Marie Hodgson Memorial Fund. Elva was born on December 29, 1914 in Lima Twp, Grant County the daughter of Alvie and Mary (Hull) Reiser. She was united in marriage to Henry Hodgson on September 24, 1934 in Madison, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1983. Elva and Henry farmed for many years in Lima Twp., Grant County. She truly loved working on the farm with Henry, tending to her gardens and flowers. She later worked as a nurses aid at the Cuba City Hospital. She is survived by her two sons, Jim (Dee) Hodgson of St. Joseph, MO; Terry Hodgson of Platteville; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Voigts of Platteville; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Robert on December 13, 2010, daughter-in-law, Lisa Marie Hodgson on January 22, 2005, sisters, Doris Jenks and Lucille Wunderlin.
