Obituary

Wanda Foerster died peacefully in her home at Park Place Assisted Living, Platteville, WI on March 9, 2015 .

On July 8, 1933, Wanda was born to Wilbert A. Foerster and Ada Rohm in Los Angeles, California. When Wanda was 12, the family returned to Wisconsin, moving to a small dairy farm near Kiel, WI. Although a reluctant transplant, Wanda did learn to care greatly for the environment, growing vegetables and raising chickens and dairy cows. In 1955 she married Robert M. Timm. Bob and Wanda moved to South Milwaukee where they raised 4 children. Although they divorced in 1980, Wanda and Bob became close friends until his death in 2005.

Wanda enjoyed being a stay at home mom throughout the 60s. In her suburban yard, she tended a large vegetable garden that fed her hungry family. Wanda was an original organic gardener in the early 70s and had the neighborhood's first compost pile. As time went on and the kids no longer played in the yard, Wanda converted it to beautiful flower and prairie gardens. It was a delight to walk through her yard, picking flowers and getting lost in the grasses.

In the late 70s, Wanda went to work at Delco Electronics in Oak Creek where she became a skilled technician working on minute electronic parts. She enjoyed her job and advanced to Lead Tech. Even then, it was her gardens that brought her peace.

Wanda is survived by her brother Will Foerster (Ramona Mau); her children: Robin Timm (Jayne Dunnum), Charles Timm-Ballard (Dana Ballard), Steven Timm (Susan Taubel), and Jo Hanna Campbell; her grandchildren Ada and Emma Timm-Ballard, Xavier and Zavon Campbell, and 3 great granddaughters Bella, Sophia and Lucia. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Foerster, her ex-husband, Robert Timm and her best friend, Jo Yelanjian.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Park Place Apartments and Assisted Living in Platteville for the exceptional care they provide. From day one, Wanda felt Park Place was home and family. They also send a great appreciation to Grant County Hospice for helping everyone in the end stages of Wanda's life.
