Marian M. Hoffman, 90, of Platteville, died on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Manor Care Health Services, Platteville. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Rev. Jeff Pedersen will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory. Marian was born on May 2, 1924 in Platteville, the daughter of Henry Leroy and Gretta May (Sands) Specht. She was united in marriage to Charles Hoffman on June 10, 1942 in Platteville. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1996. She worked in the home and also did childcare. She enjoyed bingo, cards, tending her garden, and traveling, especially her one trip out west with her sister, Joyce. Marian is survived by her children, Judy (Ron) Iverson of Livingston, WI; Shelly (Duane) Knox; Larry (Terrie) Hoffman; and Dennis Hoffman, all of Platteville; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce (Dick) Doelz of Platteville; brother, Lawrence “Arkie” Specht, of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Gary, in infancy, and Troy on November 5, 2013; sisters, Cleo Specht and Evelyn Berkan; brothers, Cecil, Lenard, Maynard, and John.
