Gerald Henneman

Gerald “Jerry” K. Henneman, 84, of Belmont, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Mineral Point Care Center, after a long illness. Memorial services will 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont. Rev. Connie Matye will officiate. Jerry and Harriet's cremains will be combined where they will be reunited for eternity. Burial will be at the Belmont Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Gerald Henneman Memorial Fund. Jerry was born on December 27, 1930 in Belmont, Wisconsin, the son of Benjamin and Rose (Steichen) Henneman. He graduated from Belmont High School in 1948. Jerry joined the U.S. Air Force in 1949 and served his country until 1951. On August 30, 1951 Jerry married his long time sweetheart Harriet Heins and together they raised two boys. After a fire in 1952, at the OJ Henneman store, Jerry helped rebuild and became a partner with his dad, Benjamin, in Henneman's Red Ball Market. Jerry eventually started driving truck for Lee Pelton Trucking. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, and he retired from McMorHan Trucking. In retirement Jerry and Harriet spent their time watching their grandchildren in school activities and doing woodwork in their shop. Jerry took great pride in managing the forestry partnership, Mound Timber, with his grandchildren. Jerry was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont. He is survived by a son, Phil (Julie) of Boscobel, WI; and grandchildren, Stacey of Whitewater, Chad and Cory both of Boscobel; great-granddaughter, Jaden of Whitewater; sisters-in-law, Chancey Henneman and Shirley Heins and nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Harriet, son, Terry, grandson, Keith and brother, Merlin.
