Obituary
Alice M. Dax, 88, of Muscoda died on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the Richland Hospital, Richland Center. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Muscoda. Fr. Peter Auer will officiate. Burial will be at the Avoca Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Gym where there will be a parish rosary at 3:45 p.m.; friends may also call from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Thursday. Alice was born on July 7, 1926 in Iowa County the daughter of John and Kathryn (Schwingle) Seifert. She was united in marriage to Norbert Dax on June 27, 1946. He preceded her in death on December 14, 1999. Alice worked at the Cobb Canning, Badger Ordinance and for Wilson's Nursery in Boscobel. For many years she worked at Land's End, where she did monogramming and embroidering. She was an active member of St. John the Baptist Church and Altar Society. She belonged to the VFW Auxiliary, she volunteered many hours at St. Vincent DePaul, and with the Muscoda School Alumni. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends in the Pulaski Card Club, gardening, tending to her lawn, quilting and sewing. She always enjoyed following her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their sports and school activities. Alice is survived by three children, David (Susan) Dax, Dale (Kathy) Dax and Barb (Mike) McCormick all of Blue River, WI; six grandchildren, Shelley (Aaron) Prochaska, Jacqueline (K.J.) Wolf, Ryan Dax, Brandon (Courtney Schwingel) McCormick, Trent McCormick and Kaitlyn McCormick; six great-grandchildren, Kelby, Braden, Ella and Hadley Prochaska, Amelia and Adaline Wolf. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers, Gerald and Robert Seifert.
