Louise Ebert

Louise Ann Ebert, 83, of Platteville, formerly of Santa Rosa, California died on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Southwest Health Center Hospital, Platteville. Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 15, 2015 at the United Methodist Church, Platteville. Rev. Brenda Whitford will officiate. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Monday at the church. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family. Louise was born on July 6, 1931 in Bismarck, North Dakota, daughter of Anton and Anna (Gerlach) Kutchera. She was united in marriage to Wesley Ebert on June 12, 1954 at the McCabe Methodist Church, Bismarck. He preceded her in death on July 2, 2008. She graduated from Hamlin University in 1953. She worked as a registered nurse.
She was a 50 year member of the First United Methodist Church, Santa Rosa, California, active teaching and attending Sunday School, and an active member of the United Methodist Women. She was very active with refugee resettlement helping families with cultural adjustment tutoring children and providing temporary housing in the family home. When her children were home she was a Cub Scout Den Mother, Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She gave many girls wonderful outdoor camping experiences.
She is survived by her five children, Susan (Lynn) Schlager of Platteville; Wesley Ebert, Jr. of Wausau, WI; David (Beth) Ebert of Melbourne, Australia; Paul (Kathy) Ebert of Brisbane, Australia; Ann (Jeff) Gospe of Santa Rosa, CA; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; one sister, June (Jim) Swomley of Bloomfield, CT; one brother, Arthur (Donna) Kutchera of White Bear Lake, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter-in-law, Karen Ebert.
The family would like to Thank Dr. Connolly and Park Place for providing excellent care while she resided in Wisconsin. Also Thanks to the members of the Platteville United Methodist Church for welcoming her into their church family.
