Alta S. Weittenhiller, 99, of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, formerly of Platteville, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at her residence in Sun Prairie. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Rev. Connie Matye will officiate. Alta was born on September 10, 1915 in Platteville Township, daughter of Arthur S. and Florence M. (Keene) Schmidt. She was married to Harold Weittenhiller on November 4, 1939. He preceded her in death on November 17, 2001. Alta for many years was a clerk at Cardin's Pharmacy in Platteville. She enjoyed antiquing, quilting and crocheting. She is survived by her son, Gene (Linda) Weittenhiller; three grandchildren, Josh Moore, Ross (Becky) Weittenhiller, Cassie Weittenhiller; great-granddaughter, Lilliana; brother, Leonard (Arlene) Schmidt; sister, Lucille Fassbender; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; twin brother, Arthur “Bud”; and brother, Ivan.
