Richard VanNatta

Richard D. VanNatta, 73, of Cornelia, died on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Monday, August, 17, 2015 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Rev. Jeff Pedersen will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Richard D. Richard was born on December 27, 1941 in Platteville, Wisconsin, the son of George H. and Leona D. (Brugger) VanNatta. He grew up and farmed his whole life in Cornelia on the family farm. Richard enjoyed gardening, music, especially Johnny Cash, and the trips he made to the Grand Ole Opry. He is survived by three children, Tina (Tater) Varney, Sheri (Tom Roddick) VanNatta, Alan (Penney) VanNatta; six grandchildren, Joel (Amanda) VanNatta, Charlotte VanNatta, Kameron (Kayla) McCord, Trisha Haines, Colton and Shawna Randecker; sister, Virginia Coville. He was preceded in death by his parents, George on March 14, 2000, Leona on February 10, 2007, and brother, Robert VanNatta
