Obituary

Rosemary F. Oyen, 84, of Potosi, died on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, Iowa. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 21, 2015 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Tennyson. Fr. Richard Leffler will officiate. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, where there will be a parish rosary at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday, at the church. Memorial may be made to the Rosemary Oyen Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be made at www.melbyfh.com.
Rosemary was born on June 15, 1931 in Jamestown Township, of Grant County, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Nick and Loretta (Schardt) Timmerman. She was united in marriage to Harold Oyen on September 27, 1950 at Immaculate Conception Parish of Kieler, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1999. Rosemary worked at a supervisor at Loud Speaker Components for 19 years. She was an avid Cubs fan. She enjoyed puzzles, word searches, and visiting with family and friends on the phone. Rosemary deeply loved her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Rosemary is survived by six sons and three daughters, Robert (Terry) Oyen of Potosi; Gene (Julie) Oyen of Potosi; Thomas (Dr. Mary Jo) Oyen of Platteville; Mary (Dennis) Bailie of Potosi; Linda (Ron) Blum of Potosi; Alan (friend, Richard) Oyen of Galena; David (fiancé, Mary) Oyen of Lancaster; Richard (Joleen) Oyen of Potosi; Karen (Wayne) Reynolds of Potosi; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one brother, Justin Timmerman of Kieler; three sisters, Katie Abing of Potosi; Celine Schaefer of Fennimore; and Carol Kaster of Adams, WI.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband; parents; Harold's parents; four brothers; three brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law.

So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Rosemary was gracious enough to let my sisters (Judy Hying & Mary Kay Cairy) visit our mother's childhood/family farm. We really enjoyed visiting with her for the afternoon.

Rosie Oyen Family, I am so sorry to hear of your mothers passing. She was my supervisor when I worked at LCC years ago. She was a WONDERFUL lady and will be missed by many. You have my sympathy and remember that your memories will live on forever!
