Paul Riechers

Paul D. Riechers, 77, of Belmont/Platteville died on Friday, September 25, 2015 at University Hospital, Madison, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be at Noon, Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont. Rev. Connie Matye will officiate. Burial will be at the Belmont Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family. Memorials may be made to the Paul D. Paul was born on October 28, 1937 in Belmont, Wisconsin, son of Frank and Amanda (Gullickson) Riechers. He graduated from Belmont High School in 1955. He attended UW-Platteville and UW-Madison where he earned his college degrees. Paul was a professor of math where he taught at University of Illinois, Champagne/Urbana, he then taught math at UW-Platteville. He retired from teaching math for twenty years at a community college in Omaha, Nebraska. He was an avid Cubs, Packers and Badgers fan. Paul always enjoyed a good conversation and reading. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by two sisters, Carol (Harvey) Frontz of Belmont; Norma (Norm) Vondra of Burlington, WI; sister-in-law, Dell Riechers of Janesville, WI; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Neal and parents.
