Elaine M. Brogley, 78, of Platteville died on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Manor Care Health Services, Platteville. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Platteville. Deacon Bill Bussan and Rev. Jerry Zhanay will concelebrate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville or from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the church. Elaine was born on March 17, 1937 in Kieler, Wisconsin, daughter of Ervin and Evelyn (Bertjens) Northaus. She was united in marriage to Robert Brogley on February 8, 1956 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Kieler. She graduated from Cuba City High School in 1955. Elaine and Bob farmed for many years.
She enjoyed tending to her flowers, researching genealogy, canning vegetables, and preparing large meals. Elaine's greatest pride was in her family as she was always sure to support her children and grandchildren with unconditional guidance, love, and support.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Brogley of Platteville; five sons, Jack Brogley of Platteville; Steve (Tammy) Brogley of Cuba City, WI; Tom (Barb) Brogley, Brad (Jessica) Brogley, Rod (Jamie) Brogley all of Platteville; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Northaus of Montana. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law, Roni Brogley on September 18, 2013, brother, Francis Northaus and father and mother-in-law, Harold and Lenice Brogley.
