I was most privileged to meet and care for Mary in her last month as a volunteer -- and I visited her every Wednesday morning. She was a woman of great intelligence and extreme warmth; we clicked and enjoyed many conversations together. I am thrilled to know she was connected to UW-Platteville (my alma mater as well) -- her cats and her love of classical music were subjects of our conversations. I am a better person for having met her, as are hundreds of others. God bless her memory for you all. Her pain is no longer and she has left her mark on us all.

I write to condole on the sad loss of Mary Kelly, a force for positive change in this world and a passionate Manxwoman whose drive brought about the creation of the Manx Museum in Platteville in recognition of the many men and women who left these shores to make a new life in North America. It will stand as a fitting memorial, Yn Eiraght Americaanagh ,to a founder member of the Wisconsin Manx Society and former President of the North American Manx Association. Her energies have been devoted to her community in many other ways and she has left a legacy from which future generations will continue to benefit . Though she espoused the land of her birth she was steeped in all that was Manx . Our National Poet T E Brown, on expressing his thoughts of his own death, wrote that "...God keeps for me a little island in the sea........and ....even now between its simple poles It has the soul of all my souls". I feel that could also apply to Mary; may she rest in peace. Oie Vie Clare Christian President of Tynwald Isle of Man
