Obituary

Alan R. VanNatta, 48, of Benton, Wisconsin, died on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Memorials may be made to the Alan R. VanNatta Memorial Fund. Alan was born on April 13, 1967 in Cuba City, Wisconsin, son of Richard and Jean (Leighty) VanNatta. He was united in marriage to Penney Jeremiason on November 11, 2006 at the United Methodist Church, Galena, Illinois; they later renewed their vows in Negril, Jamaica on the beach. He attended Platteville High School. After high school Alan worked as a mechanic for many automobile dealerships from Florida to Madison, but most recently for many years at Runde's Auto Group, Platteville. He also for a while worked at Ashley's Furniture, Platteville. As a young man he enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. He always enjoyed working on cars, collecting scale model muscle cars, Budweiser memorabilia and heavy metal music.
He is survived by his wife, Penney; four children, Joel (Amanda) VanNatta, Charlotte VanNatta, Colton (Andrea Sanger) Randecker, and Shawna Randecker; three grandsons, Gaven, Austin and Jaycent; mother, Jean Jenny; two sisters, Tina (Tater) Varney and Sheri (Tom Roddick) VanNatta; mother-in-law, Rita Hoffman; aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard on August 11, 2015, grandparents, Leland “Boots” and Florence Leighty and George and Leona VanNatta.

I'm so sorry for your loss over this holiday season. I grew up with Al haven't seen him in several years but have always thought he was a good fun loving guy.

I'm so sorry Penny, Al was a wonderful person Many of good times out at the bean field drinking beer with him he will always be a good friend and in my thoughts forever.
