Obituary

Danny “Booner” A. Brinkman, 55, of Platteville died on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Southwest Health Center Hospital of natural causes. A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, or from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the celebration on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Danny “Booner” Brinkman Memorial Fund. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Booner was born on May 29, 1960 in Platteville, Wisconsin, son of Curtis and Beverly (Morris) Brinkman. He was united in marriage to Janet Wetter on September 28, 1979 at the United Methodist Church, Platteville. Booner graduated from Platteville High School, class of 1978. He began working for the City of Platteville in 1977, where he worked all of his life, in the Platteville Parks and Recreation Department, where he was park foreman. Booner was an avid outdoorsman, where he hunted, fished, coon and morel hunting and spending time in northern Wisconsin. He always enjoyed Cranberry Fest, Warrens, Wisconsin, camping and his many trips to Las Vegas and Myrtle Beach with his family.
Booner is survived by his wife, Janet of Platteville; daughter, Chelsey (Matt) Maloney of Red Wing, MN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick “Cue Ball” Holmes, Gary & Rosena Wetter, Bill & Becky Wetter, Dennis & Kathy Wetter, David & LuAnn Wetter and Suzanne Wetter; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Debra Holmes on May 24, 2014.
