Obituary
Dale F. Leibfried, 83, of Platteville, Wisconsin, (formerly of Potosi) died on Saturday, July 25, 2026. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 1, from 10:00 to noon, followed by funeral services, all at Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Burial will be at St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery, Tennyson, at a later date.
Dale was born on September 19, 1942, the son of Alfred “Bub” and Hilda (Slaats) Leibfried, and was united in marriage to Mary Grace Schultz on November 26, 1964, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Tennyson.
Dale was a lifelong farmer who was born on his family farm in Harrison Township and lived there for 70 years. After his retirement, he also worked part time at Leibfried Feed. He was an active member of St. Andrew-Thomas Parish. Dale always enjoyed a good game of cards, especially playing 500 with his grandkids. He loved family time on the annual family fishing vacation in northern Wisconsin and attending his grandchildren’s school, music, dance, and sports events.
Dale is survived by his wife, Mary Grace; his children Scott (Geri) Leibfried, Pamela Leibfried, Bart (Jennifer) Leibfried, Todd (Tina) Leibfried and Andrea Leibfried; his eight grandchildren, Brett (Anne), Jenna (Mitch) Nachreiner, Anna, Leah, Austin, Evan, Dalen, and Landen; his four great-grandchildren, Tucker, Cooper, Hunter and Francis; his brother- and sisters-in-law, Evelyn Leibfried, Tom (Arlene) Schultz, and Vicki Schultz. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Alfred “Al” (Donna), Kenneth and Robert Leibfried.
