Roger was born on May 27, 1942 in Elk Grove Township, the son of Purl and Maude (McClain) Wehnke. He was united in marriage to Elaine Kracke on May 22, 1965 at First English Lutheran Church. Roger graduated from Platteville High School. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going north to watch the elk at Clam Lake. Roger also liked to watch the birds and squirrels; he just loved nature and all it had to offer, which also goes to show why he was a proud lifelong farmer. Overall his family was most important to him, he loved to spend time with them all and his grandchildren especially provided him a lot of joy. Roger is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elaine; three children, Bobby (Amy) Wehnke of Columbus, OH; Laura Rados of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; and Scott (Michelle) Wehnke of Platteville; 11 grandchildren, Miranda, Sam, Sarah, Helena, Katlyn, Mackenzie, Julia, Parker, Paxton, Avery and Dryden; and one great-grandson, Hayden. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert “Bob” Wehnke in 1958.
