Obituary

Debbie V. Howell, 82, of Platteville died on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Manor Care, Platteville. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2016 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Debbie Howell Memorial Fund. Debbie was born on August 18, 1933 in Rolla, Missouri, daughter of Louis and Effie (Walls) Taylor. She was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Howell on September 12, 1964 in Galena, Illinois. For many years she was a bartender at the Badger Bar and other establishments in Platteville. Debbie did child care for her children and many other families. She always enjoyed baking, tending to her flowers and her dog and cat.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Bob of Platteville; nine children, Larry (Sandy) Howell of Bagley, WI; Kathy (Robbie Reuter) Hoffman of Potosi, WI; Chris (Jack) Williams of Silvis, IL; Troy (Cheryl Bobb) Wilkinson of East Moline, IL; Randy Howell of Dubuque, IA; LeeAnna (Tim Olsen) Howell of Onalaska, WI; John (Angel McIntyre) Howell of Livingston, WI; Robert (Teresa) Howell, Jr., of Wauwatosa, WI; Bill (Erin) Howell of Livingston; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Joyce McDermott, Beverly (Randy) Gobin, Connie (Bill) Eisele, Betty (Steve) Staskal; brother-in-law, Tony (Delores) Howell and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Dawn in infancy, two grandchildren, Amanda and Justin Williams, great-grandson, Cody Womack, sister, Dorothy Robbins and brother, Bobby Taylor.

I'm so sorry for your loss, I remember your mom when I lived in Platteville. She always gave me cookies when I would stop by. She was a great lady!
