Eric Klar

Eric Scott Klar, 53, a lifelong resident of Platteville, WI, passed away after a long battle with cancer, on Monday, March 21, 2016, at Manor Care in Platteville, surrounded by family members. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Platteville. Rev. Faustino Ruiz will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the church. Eric was born on August 20, 1962 in Cuba City, WI, the son of Francis and Geri (Carl) Klar. He graduated from Platteville High School in 1981. Eric spent many years working on the family farm. He was an avid outdoorsman; trapping and hunting much of his life. He often spoke of his hunting adventures. He leaves this world as an inspiration to encourage positive activity through hunting and being outdoors. He also enjoyed arrow head hunting and giving vegetables from his garden to family and friends. Eric is survived by his mother, Geri, of Platteville; brothers, Pete (Sheila) Klar, Pat (Sue) Klar, Steve Klar, Tim (Jackie) Klar, John (Kim) Klar, Chris (Kim) Klar; sister, Lori (John) Hitchcock; many nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis, in 2007; and grandparents, Ardith and Isabelle Carl and Cyril and Hazel Klar. The family would like to thank Manor Care and Grant County Hospice for the care given to Eric.
