Obituary

Larry C. Seemeyer, 70, of Platteville, died on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Manor Care Health Services, Platteville. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Westview Methodist Church. Rev. Paul Glendenning will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2016 at Westview Methodist Church or from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family. Memorials may be made to the Larry C. Seemeyer Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Larry was born on November 28, 1945 in Platteville, the son of Nathan Henry and Mildred (Lancaster) Seemeyer. He graduated from Platteville High School in 1963. Larry worked at Advance Transformer until they closed; he then went to work at Dick's Bakery in Platteville. Larry enjoyed riding motorcycle, playing trumpet, and listening to music. He was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He is survived by his mom, Mildred Faith of Platteville; sisters, Nancy Fidler of Platteville; Melody (Tim Koeller) Seemeyer of Platteville; nieces and nephews, Ryan Koeller, Vienna (Thomas) Wackershauser, Karla Fidler, Cheryl (James) Jamieson, and Stacie Fidler; he is further survived by aunts and uncles; cousins; and many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his dad, Nathan; step-dad, Donovan Faith; brother-in-law, Larry Fidler; and nephew Tim Fidler.

I am so sorry to hear of Larry's passing. I enjoyed visiting with him at Manor Care during my short visits to Platteville. I had a nice visit with Larry in March. He was a sweet man. So sorry for your loss.
