Ralph Hauri

Ralph C. Hauri, 67, of Platteville, died on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Manor Care Health Services, Platteville. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Rev. Zayna Thompson will officiate. Burial will be at Block House Cemetery, rural Platteville. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Ralph C. Ralph was born on January 21, 1949 in Elgin, Illinois, son of Chester and Ethel (Schartow) Hauri. Ralph farmed in Platteville Township and owned and operated Hauri Implement in Platteville. He then went to work for Rural Excavating, Platteville, where he was a heavy machine mechanic/operator for over 30 years. He was an avid tractor puller in the antique division where he was on the Rooster Kruzzer pulling team. Ralph was inducted into the Tractor Pulling Hall of Fame. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, collecting antique tractors, playing euchre (usually cheating), and making craft beer and wine. Ralph's joy, though, was spending time with his family.

Ralph is survived by his significant other, Marilyn Richards of Platteville; two daughters, Michelle “Spook” (Jim “Captain Jim”) Scadden of East Troy, WI; Kim “Gopher” (Kelly) Coyle of Cuba City, WI their mother, Delores Hauri of Caledonia, IL; seven grandchildren, Conner, Cody, Sydney “Pantyhose”, Ethan, Ajay, Carter, and McKenna; twin brother, Russell “Nummy” (Paulette) Hauri of Woodstock, IL; brother, Roger (Kelly) Hauri of Platteville; four sisters, Judy (Skip) Chinn, Mary (Ken) Gregory, Sally Rendell, Beverly (Brad) Limbaugh all of Woodstock, IL; sister-in-law, Deb Hauri of Lancaster, WI; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roy, brother-in-law, Chuck Rendell and nephew, Kevin Gregory.
