Daryl Campbell

Daryl E. Campbell, 80, of Platteville died on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Manor Care Health Services, Platteville. Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Private burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service Friday at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Daryl E. Daryl was born on July 21, 1935 the son of Benjamin and Charlotte (Bell) Campbell. Daryl was united in marriage to Jeanette McFall on August 7, 1971 at the Free Methodist Church, Platteville. Daryl graduated from Platteville High School and attended Southwest Tech, Fennimore, where he studied mechanical repair. He worked at Stamp Mfg. Dubuque; he farmed in Platteville Township for many years before moving to town. After he moved to Platteville he worked, for a few years, at Clare Bank doing maintenance. After which he started working at Wal-Mart in their maintenance department and eventually was moved to greeter working for over 20 years. Daryl enjoyed fishing, watching movies, and bird watching in his later years. He loved ice cream with peanuts for desert and his chocolate covered cherries.
Daryl is survived by his wife, Jeanette of Platteville; daughter, Peggy (Timothy) Polodna of Platteville; step-children, Carol D'Josey of Broken Bow, NE; Stan (Phyllis) Quincy of Platteville; granddaughter, Wynonna Lynn Campbell of Menomonie, WI; ten step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Galen Kuster, Jim & Clare McFall, Dick & Marion McFall, Judy Bendorf, Sharon & John Soman, Dorothy & Kenny Drury, Larry & Marilyn McFall, Kay & Doug Bennett and Kitty & Dan Soman and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-daughter, Barbara Klooz and sister-in-law, Carolyn Kuster.
