Kevin R. Stastny, 39, of Platteville, WI, formerly of Cedar Rapids, IA, died on Sunday, April 17, 2016. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2016 at Hope Lutheran Church, 2736 Bowling St. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA, 52404. Pastor Dan Clark-Bridges will officiate. Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the church. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the Kevin R. Kevin was born on September 23, 1976, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Robert and Jocelyn (Wedemeier) Stastny. He was united in marriage to Amanda Kromminga on October 3, 1998 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Monticello, IA. Kevin worked at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids for many years; most recently he had been working at Land's End in Dodgeville as a network administrator. Kevin was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed playing video games, camping, fishing, and campfires. One of his great accomplishments was bowling a 300 game. He loved to follow his daughters in all of their activities; they were the pride of his life. He was a very talented man, he was very tech savvy and was a great handyman, if it needed repair he would find a way to do so. Kevin had a large fish aquarium which he spent a lot of time taking care of and he took pride in it. Most importantly, though, he just enjoyed to be with friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Amanda, of Platteville, formerly of Hopkinton, IA; three daughters, Kylie, Katrina, and Kendra; parents, Robert and Jocelyn Stastny; sisters, Julie (Troy) Willard and Colleen (Brian) Kane; mother and father-in-law, Connie and Duane Kromminga; brothers and sisters-in-law, Melissa (Steve) Murrell, Shawn (Shelly) Kromminga, Chad (Kari) Kromminga, Aimee (Bobby) Ratliff; many nieces and nephews; and their family dog, Joey. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Stastny, Floyd and Marion Wedemeier, Richard and Phyllis Kromminga, and Glenn and Mazie Drake; and beloved family dog, Casey.
