U.S. VeteranTerry L. Yanna, 69, of Belmont died on Saturday, April 30, 2016 very unexpectedly at UW-Hospital, Madison. Friends may call from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, where Military Rites will be accorded at 4:00 p.m. A celebration of life will follow at the Belmont Community Building in Belmont. Burial will be at Mifflin Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Terry L. Yanna Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Terry was born on January 12, 1947 in Platteville, Wisconsin, son of Leo Bernell and Shirley June (Timmens) Yanna. Terry was united in marriage to Marcella “Marcy” Pollock on April 24, 1971 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, Hazel Green, Wisconsin. He graduated from Belmont High School in 1966 where right after graduation he was drafted into the United States Army, being discharged in 1969. While in high school and after serving his country Terry worked at the Belmont Sales Barn until 1977. In 1981 he began working at Southwest Supply, Platteville, where he worked 35 years up until his death. He enjoyed following the Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers. Terry loved fishing in the area lakes around Belmont, Governor Dodge, Twin Valley and up in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. He is survived by his wife, Marcy of Belmont; two sons, Christopher (JoAnna) Yanna of McFarland; Adam (fiancé, Courtney Thomas) of Belmont; five grandchildren, Isabella, Sophia, Henry, Tanner and Tucker Yanna; sister, Jackie (Larry) Richardson of Galena, IL; two brothers, Rick (Deb) Yanna of Boscobel, WI; Brian (fiancé, Betty Margan) Yanna of Rewey, WI; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Dennis.
