Janice Anderson

Janice E. Anderson, 89, of Lancaster formerly of Platteville, died on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care, Lancaster. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Pastor Jeff Suits will officiate. Janice was born on August 6, 1926 in Ellenboro, Wisconsin, daughter of Henry and Mabel (Keene) Woolf. She was united in marriage to Victor Anderson on February 10, 1948 in Lafayette County. He preceded her in death in 1994. She and Victor farmed in Argyle, Wisconsin, for many years. In 1963 they moved to Platteville where she worked for a while at the Burgess Battery Factory. She enjoyed watching birds, playing bingo, spending time at Lake Joy, going to the senior center and bus trips. She volunteered at the Platteville food pantry. Janice is survived by three daughters, Vicky (Randy) Stensven of Belvidere, IL; Leta (John) Bragg of Lancaster; Lori (Phil) Rach of River Falls, WI; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Bethel Edge of Oconomowoc, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sons, Robert in infancy and Steven and one sister Leila, Johanns.
