Obituary
Lois E. Jentz, 80 of Platteville, died on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Southwest Health Center Hospital, Platteville. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the Lutheran Church of Peace, Platteville. Rev. Jeff Pedersen will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, or from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church, Wednesday. Lois was born on August 28, 1935 at Truman, Lafayette County, Wisconsin, daughter of Herbert and Myra (Johnsen) Mester. She was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Jentz on July 31, 1954 at Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on September 16, 2012. She graduated from Belmont High School in 1953. Lois for over 20 years worked for Dr. Schultz as a receptionist at his optometry clinic and later for Dr. Leuth. She later worked for Pioneer Management until her retirement in 2001. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Peace, Quota Club, and the Legion Auxillary. She always enjoyed her bridge clubs, fishing and following the Packers and Badgers, especially during basketball season. Lois especially loved to follow her grandchildren in all of their school sports and activities.
She is survived by three children, Susan (Tim) Lange of Milton, WI; Mary (Bruce) Place of Platteville; Jim (Michelle) Jentz of Benton, WI; nine grandchildren, Grant and David Lange, Julie (Kyle Christopherson) Place, Michael (Sarah) Place, Amy Place, Riley Jentz, Tyler, Amber and Chelsey Bricker; sister-in-law, Dorothy Budde of Sun Prairie, WI; niece, Jan (Tom) Anderson and nephew, Tom (Karen) Budde. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother-in-law, Gordon Budde and nephew, Robert Budde. The family would like to thank the staff at Southwest Health, especially Dr. Klann, Dr. Sukhwal, and Tracy.
