Obituary

Glenn D. Reese, 81, of Belmont, Wisconsin, died on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Park Place Assisted Living, Platteville. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont. Rev. Connie Matye will officiate. Burial will be at the Belmont Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday or from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Glenn Reese Memorial Fund. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Glenn was born on October 4, 1934 in Benton Township, Lafayette County, son of Jesse and Ruby (Arthur) Reese. He was united in marriage to Doris Anne Nodolf on August 24, 1957 at Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont. Glenn graduated from Cuba City High School and served 8 years in the National Guard. He farmed in Cuba City and, for many years, in Belmont. Glenn later went to farm in Muscoda and Blue River. For 25 years he showed Belgian Draft Horses. Throughout his adult life Glenn played pool in several pool leagues and tournaments, including the National tournament in Las Vegas, and after retirement he expanded his pool playing into a business of selling pool merchandise. He is survived by his wife, Doris; three children, John (Deb) Reese of Elizabeth, IL; Julie Reese of Barneveld; and Jeff (Carrie) Reese of Barneveld; five grandchildren, Noelle, Bennett, Parker, Lauren, and Sophie; brother, David (Karen) Reese of Dickeyville. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Clinton.

I have so many good memories of Glenn when I worked with him while I was general manager at Culver's in Platteville when Glenn worked there. Glenn was a hard worker and always had a good story to tell! He was truly a memorable character and I miss hearing those stories. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers during this time.
