Arnold Digman

Arnold J. Digman, 77, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died on Monday, July 18, 2016, at his home. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, where at 1:00 p.m. there will be an Elk's Service with a memorial service to follow immediately afterwards. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Platteville, at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Arnold J. Digman Memorial Fund. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com

Arnold was born on January 14, 1939 in Cuba City, the son of Aloys F. and Helen (Wagner) Digman. He was united in marriage to Kristine Meis on March 4, 1995 in Davenport, Iowa. Arnie worked as a farmer for several years, after which, he began working at John Deere Dubuque Works, where he retired after 31 years. After retirement he drove milk truck for 15 years; he also worked as a farrier shoeing horses for 20 years, from 1978-1998. Arnie was a member of the Platteville Elks Lodge, where he served as the Lodge Esquire for many years and was past exalted ruler. He also served as president of the Mound City Saddle Club and Mississippi Valley Riders Association. He was an avid Brewer and Packers fan. Arnie is survived by his wife, Kristine, of Cuba City; children, Mike (Dee) Digman of Platteville; Matt (Karen) Digman of Appleton, WI; Kim (Kenny) Kruser of Dubuque; Kelli (Dave) Smutzler of Decorah, IA; and John Ohnesorge of East Dubuque, IL; grandchildren, Max and Kate Digman, Heather (James) Neuman, Alexis (Parker) Benjamin, Paige Smutzler, and Aidan Ohnesorge; great-granddaughter, Adeline Neuman; brothers, Eugene “Gene” (Janice) Digman, Elmer (Rosemary) Digman, and Bernard “Bernie” Digman all of Platteville; sister, Arlene (Robert) Jones f Oconomowoc, WI; brother-in-law, John Meis of Galena, IL; as well as, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Beverly Digman.
