Keith Bryhan

Keith D. Bryhan, 83, of Lancaster, died on Friday, July 22, 2016 at his home, with his family by his side. Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2016 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, where military rites will be accorded by VFW Post #5274 and American Legion Post #42. Rev. Mike Christensen will officiate. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Keith Bryhan Memorial Fund. Keith was born on August 21, 1932 in Grant County, Wisconsin, the son of Arthur and Jenelda (Kaeding) Bryhan. Keith served in the United States Navy from 1951 until 1955. He was united in marriage to Rose Simpson on October 6, 1956 at the E & R Church in Lancaster. Keith and Rose farmed for 30 years in Potosi Township. He enjoyed riding horses, hunting, his trucks, listening to Merle Haggard, and trips to Wyoming and the mountains; he was a true cowboy at heart. Keith is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Rose, of Lancaster; two children, David (Susan) Bryhan of Washington D.C.; Debra (David) Giesen, of Platteville; brother, Richard (Irene) Bryhan of Lancaster; brother-in-law, Jim Shaw of Lancaster; sisters-in-law, Gloria (Bob) Giesen, Agnes “Ag” Simpson, both of Lancaster, and Marita Simpson, of Platteville; many nieces and nephews and his faithful dog, Buddy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Jenelda Bryhan; sister, Jannan Shaw; granddaughter, Sarah Bryhan; and brothers-in-law, Ed and Phil Simpson.
