Janet Rose Hoffman, 65, of Platteville died on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison. Funeral services will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Rev. Brenda Whitford will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville, at a later date. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Janet was born on June 21, 1951 in Platteville, Wisconsin, daughter of DeForest and Bertha Mae (Ohlert) Becker. She was united in marriage to Marshall Hoffman on June 27, 1970 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Platteville. Janet attended St. Mary's School, Platteville, and graduated from Platteville High School. She worked at Pamida, Platteville, for many years. Later, Janet worked with her husband, Marshall, for many years with his business, Cash of Trash Recycling. She enjoyed doing jigsaw, crossword, and Sudoku puzzles. Janet especially enjoyed being with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Marshall of Platteville; four sisters, Virginia (Orlin) Andrew of Platteville; Karen (Wayne) Hoffman of Platteville; Kathryn (Frank) Byer of Platteville; Bonnie Becker of Phoenix, AZ; three brothers, James (Pat) Becker of Platteville; David (Debbie) Becker of Platteville; Dennis Becker of Madison, WI; sisters-in-law, Patricia Rewey of Platteville; Pamela (Nelson) NeCollins of Platteville; brothers-in-law, Doug Hoffman of Platteville; Rick (Becky) Hoffman of Dodgeville, WI; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Philip Klein, brothers, Roger, Wayne, and Danny Becker and an infant sister.
