Kaila Ann Jenkins, 18, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Monday September 26, 2016. Private family services will be held at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Dr. Jeff Jacobson will officiate. Burial will be at the Whig Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Kaila A. Jenkins Memorial Fund. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.
Kaila was born on July 13, 1998 in Platteville daughter to Laurel Jenkins and Keith Wanezek. Kaila graduated from Platteville High School this year and began working in customer service at American Custom Care, Platteville. Her plans were too go to school for horse massaging in the future.
She loved dogs, horses, and did barrel racing in many rodeos. She was an artist, enjoyed music, and spending many hours on the Mississippi River, where she liked tubing.
She is survived by her parents, Laurel Jenkins of Chicago; Keith (Arica) Wanezek of Platteville; brother, Wyatt and sister, Alivia Wanezek; grandparents, Jeff and Ann Jenkins and Randy and Jean Wanezek, all of Platteville; great-grandparents, Helen Jenkins and Bev Loy-Hollman of Platteville; Joan Vesperman of Lancaster, WI; Grant Loy of Stitzer, WI; aunts and uncles, Amanda (Tim) Freidag, Josh (Carol Martin) Jenkins, Ali (Shawn Schaefer) Jenkins, Jaidin Jenkins, Kurt “Ed” (Brandy) Wanezek; special friend, Jacob Shepherd; cousin, Paige Vondra. Also surviving Kaila is her blue eyed buddy, Hurley, her horse, Hank, and furry sister, Mia. She was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Wayne Jenkins, Jack Vesperman, Stan Hollman, and Bette Matson. The family would like to thank the faculty and staff at Platteville High School for helping Kaila achieve her hard earned high school diploma.
