Obituary
Ronald B. Browning, 76, of Belmont, died on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Southwest Health Center, Platteville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2017 at St. Philomena Catholic Church. Father Jim Leeser will officiate. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Belmont. Friends may call from 1:30 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017 at St. Philomena Catholic Church where there will be a scripture wake service at 1:15 p.m.; friends may also call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Ronald was born on July 14, 1940 in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, son of Guerdon and Esther (Lightcap) Browning. He was united in marriage to Carol Peterson on September 3, 1960 at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Belmont. He served in the United States Navy. Ronald worked for the Lafayette County Highway Department, John Deere and at Belmont Equipment. For 18 years he worked at Springs Window Fashions, Middleton, until his retirement. He was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church. In the 60's he raced go-carts. Ron was very mechanically inclined and built and flew model airplanes, and as a young boy built his first car. He enjoyed selling and riding snowmobiles, boating on the Mississippi and going on many motorcycle trips. Most of all Ron dearly loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Carol of Belmont; three children, Jeff (Debbie) Browning of Lodi, WI; Joe (fiancé, Pamela Rust) of Rockford, IL; Jackie (David) Kamps of Belmont; 12 grandchildren, Talia (Mark) Shields, Nicole (Scott) Albrecht, Trace Browning, Chance Browning, Nicholas Ronald (Jenny) Browning, Brittany (Jarod) Wampole, Briana Browning, Corry West, Kara (fiancé, Michael Schmitt) Kamps, Kassi (fiancé, Cory Clermont) Kamps, Kailee Kamps and Keegan Kamps; 5 great-grandchildren, Gus Shields, Terin Olson, Bryce Albrecht, Brody Wise, and Zada West; one sister, Ruth Schimke of Burlington, WI; half-sister, Debbie Mayo, three half-brothers, Darrell, Dennis and Darrin Browning; sisters-in-law, Darlene Millard, Judy (Bob) Engelke, Jeannie (John) Mootz, MaryJo (Mike) Acherman, Karla Mieden; brother-in-law, Carl “Buzz” (Mardele) Peterson; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Joyce Peterson, brothers-in-law, John Schimke, Mike Mieden and Harry Millard.
