Betty J. Wruck, 77, of Platteville died on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Manor Care Health Services, Platteville.  Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday,  February 6, 2017 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville.  Rev. Brenda Whitford will officiate.  Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville.  Friends may call at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services.  Memorials may be made to the Betty J. Betty was born on May 9, 1939 in Delavan, Wisconsin, daughter of Lorne and Dorothy (Reason) Joppa.  She was united in marriage to Clinton Wruck on August 24, 1968 in Delavan, Wisconsin.   After high school she attended and graduated from Wisconsin State College of Oshkosh with a BS in Chemistry and Mathematics.  She then went to Marquette University and received her MS in Organic Chemistry.  She was a two year graduate assistant at Marquette University from 1961 – 1963. In 1964 she went to teach at UW-Platteville where she taught chemistry until her retirement in 1996.  She was a member of the Platteville United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed reading, gardening and traveling with Clinton after retiring from teaching.  

Betty is survived by her husband, Clinton; two children, James Wruck of East Dubuque, IL; and Sue Musarra of Platteville; three grandchildren, Anna, Michael and Joey Mussara; one sister, Barbara (Jerry)Fisher of Janesville, WI; and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Norene Nelson.

Dear Clint and Wruck family, Please accept my deepest sympathy on Betty's recent passing....she was such a lovely woman and I know how much she meant to all of you....since I am in Peoria and don't get home as much as I did, I probably won't be at service but my thoughts and prayers will be with all of you My mom Zelma has been gone 10 years now and I miss her daily and remember when you, Clint, came to our home for dinner when you started teaching in Platteville. She was on the school board and always invited new pastors/teachers to our home. God Bless and know others are thinking of and praying for you. Carolyn Schuldt

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your loved one, Betty. May you find comfort in the words written at John 6:40, where God promises to bring back to life those we have lost in death by means of a resurrection. In the future He will also completely eliminate our enemy, death. (Isaiah 25:8) This gives us the wonderful hope of being reunited with our loved ones, forever. Until then, I hope the beautiful memories of Betty and these promises from God comfort you in the days to come.

Dear Clint, Jim, and Sue, Please accept my deepest sympathy for Betty's passing. She was always very gentle and kind to me and I always appreciated the patience she showed me when I was a young child. She introduced me to many books and other activities that became lifelong interests of mine. Please accept my prayers and trust God to take care of us each and every day.

We are sorry that we could not be there today to celebrate Betty's life with all of you. She was very kind to us kids growing up and she always made sure that family came first. As the years passed we would gather at the Joppa family reunion every year and it was evident that her kindness and generosity had endured. She and Clint raised a great family that they both should be proud of. Although we have not been in regular contact with her of late, we know that she has left behind a lasting testimonial that all of us can share in and cherish the memories of the time we had with her. We are sure that she is glad to see her parents in heaven after all these years and know they have much to catch up on. Again, our sincerest condolences. Jeff, Pat Nelson and family.

Clint, please accept my deepest sympathy. Betty and I were best friends in high school, and she was one of my bridesmaids. My husband and I always enjoyed talking with you and Betty at the Delavan class reunions that we attended. Unfortunately, Betty was unable to make the last reunion. I know we'll meet again in heaven.
