Shirley T. Nodorft-Ward, 100, of Platteville died on Sunday, March 12, 2017 Good Samaritan Society, Fennimore.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville.  Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville.  Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Shirley T. Shirley was born on June 30, 1916 to J. Harold and Mildred (Leppla) Tracy.  She attended Center School and Platteville High School.  Shirley married William “Bill” Nodorft on November 11, 1933.  They farmed and owned the Platteville Airport for many years.  Bill preceded her in death in 1983.  In 1989 she married Claire Ward, and he preceded her in death in 2007. 

Shirley is survived by five children, Romelle (Harold) Doering, James (Phyllis) Nodorft, Dale (Karen) Nodorft, Sandra (Terry) Ramaker, Linda (James) Lang and son-in-law, Rickard Fox; step-son Edward Ward, step-daughter, Lucy Ward, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, brother, Jack (Rita) Tracy, and nieces and nephews.  Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Rebecca Fox, brothers, Dick and Kenneth Tracy and sisters, Marion Pitzen and Beverly Hannan.

Shirley was a long time true friend. We met together for meeting in the early 1940's. She and my mother, Emma, were particularly close and enjoyed many Sundays together. We have special ties to some of the family. (Dale). We will miss her.
