Nick was born on November 6, 1954 in Darlington, Wisconsin, son of Charles D. “Beanie” and Glenda (Nethery) Galle.  He was united in marriage to Joy Knebel on November 26, 1977 at Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont.  Nick graduated from Mineral Point High School and Southwest Tech, Fennimore, where he completed the all-around butcher program.   He worked at Knebel's Processing Plant, Belmont, for over 25 years.  He then worked at Land's End, Dodgeville for almost 20 years.  He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church.  Nick was very community minded, where he retired as  volunteer fireman, and had served as a  EMT as well as on the Belmont Village board.  He was a Packer, Badger fan. He enjoyed traveling, gardening and woodworking.  Nick's love of woodworking changed when his five grandchildren were born, Parker, Bryce, Macie, Braydin, and Rylee.  They were the light of his life. Nick's life was all about family, and he was very proud of his Italian heritage. He loved to show his affection to family and friends through his cooking.

Nick is survived by his wife, Joy of Belmont; two sons, BJ (Kristin) Galle of Belmont; and their children, Parker, Braydin, and Rylee; Christopher (Jessica) Galle of Lancaster, WI, and their children, Bryce and Macie; one sister, Jane (Dave) Nordby of Madison; one brother, Jerry (Liz) Galle of Mineral Point; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law along with  many special nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
