Virginia A. “Ginny” Brogley, 81, of Platteville, died on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at her home, following a long illness. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Fr. Dave Flanagan will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Memorials may be made to the Virginia A. “Ginny” Brogley Memorial Fund. Ginny was born on September 28, 1935 in Platteville, the daughter of John and Opal (Kane) McDermott. She was united in marriage to James L. Brogley on May 22, 1954 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Platteville. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2003. Ginny worked for Brodbeck Enterprises, Platteville, in the bakery for 27 years. She enjoyed nature, birds, playing cards and games. Ginny and Jim enjoyed spending time at their cottage in Cassville, Wisconsin, on the Mississippi boating and fishing. Ginny was a member of the Platteville Elks.
She is survived by her children, Terry Lattin of Darlington, WI; Tina (Dave) Osterholz of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; Todd (Paula) Brogley of Platteville; Tami (Scott) McIntosh of Dodgeville, WI; Amy (Todd) Mowry of Platteville; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, daughter, Angela, parents, sons-in-law, Charles Lattin and Robert Richards, grandson, John Brogley, two sisters, Ruth Buchek and Jody Shepherd, and brother, Marvin McDermott.
