Donna J. (Gard) Kennedy, 72, of Platteville, passed away on April 9, 2017 at Manor Care Health Services in Platteville.  Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville.  Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville.  Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Donna J. Kennedy Memorial Fund.  Online condolences may be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Donna was born on April 18, 1944 in Platteville, the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Carpenter) Gard.  Donna enjoyed being with her family and watching her sons and grandsons grow.  She liked music and being with friends.  Donna is survived by sons, Ron Hodgson of Arthur, WI; Jason (Stephanie Hauri) Hodgson of Rewey, WI; grandsons, Jessie and Sam Hodgson; sisters, Connie (Jack) Adams of Milton, WI; Karen (Charles) McIntyre of Sun Prairie, WI; Sue Nabbefeld of Arena, WI; Cindy (Chris) Cummins of Horicon, WI; brother, John (Dawn) Gard of Platteville; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis Kopp; and sister, Lori Melssen.

Having graduated from Platteville High School in 1960, I remember Donna well and pass on my sincere sympathy in her recent passing. She was a popular student and everyone liked her.
