Obituary
Frances M. Reuter, 100, of Platteville, died on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Sienna Crest in Platteville. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Faustino Ruiz and Deacon Bill Bussan will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, where there will be a parish rosary at 3:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday, at the church. Frances was born on July 2, 1916 in Lima Township, Grant County the daughter of William and Cordelia (Holzer) Sherwin. Frances was united in marriage to LaVerne E. Reuter on October 3, 1934 at St. Clement Catholic Church, Lancaster. He preceded her in death on February 7, 2005. Frances attended the Franklin grade school and Platteville High School. She and LaVerne farmed in the Lancaster and Platteville area for many years. Frances was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Platteville, where she was active in the Council of Catholic Women. She was active in the neighborhood sewing club, and Town and Country Garden Club. She enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening, playing cards. Frances especially enjoyed going to the Grant County Fair and visiting and talking with family and friends.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Kay Maisa of Port St. Lucie, FL; daughter-in-law, Diane Reuter of Verona, WI; son-in-law, Bill (Kathy) Ingersoll of Platteville; 13 grandchildren, Christopher and Mark Mayo, Dan (Charmin) Reuter, Douglas (Kari) Reuter, Tim (Emily) Reuter, Andrew Reuter, Sherry (Liam McLaughlin) Reuter , Erin Crowell, Adam and John Maisa, Ryan (Kellie) Ingersoll, Aaron (Staci) Ingersoll and Wesley (Heather Weier) Ingersoll; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death also by her parents, daughters, Sherry Ingersoll, and Shirley Larsen, son, Deputy Sheriff Tom Reuter, grandson, Curtis Mayo, brothers and sisters, Clarence, Raymond, Guerdon, and Donald Sherwin, Genevieve Losch and Helen Cooley.
