Kathryn L. Potter, 81, of Linden, Wisconsin, formerly of Macomb, Illinois, died on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Upland Hills Health, Dodgeville. Per Kathryn's wishes there will be no formal services. Private family burial will be at a later date. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family. Memorials may be made to the Kathryn L. Potter Memorial Fund. Kathryn was born on August 9, 1935 in Media, Illinois, daughter of William and Mildred (Breeding) Miller. She was married to Walter Daves on October 14, 1953. They had five children, Mike, Vickie, Rose, Paula and Mary. He preceded her in death in May 1972 of cancer. She then married “her one true love” Cecil L. Potter on August 22, 1973. She enjoyed traveling, sightseeing and learning to square dance in Florida where she lived for a few years.
Kathryn is survived by her daughters, Rose (Duane) McCartney of Lancaster, WI; Paula McCartney of Linden, WI; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Amor and Leila McMillen of Punta Gordo, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil, parents, son, Michael Daves, daughters, Vickie Potter and infant Mary Daves, grandson, James Moore, brother, John Miller, sister, Irene (Burdette) Morrell.
