Obituary

Keith E. Wood, 79, of Cassville, Wisconsin, died on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa.  Per Keith's wishes, there will be no formal services.  The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family.  Memorials may be made in Keith's name to the Grant County Cancer Coalition.  Online condolences may be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Keith was born on December 29, 1937 in Grant County, Wisconsin, the son of Lawrence and Leila (Dolphin) Wood.  He graduated from Cassville High School in 1955 and married his high school sweetheart, Kay Schnorrenberg, on March 2, 1957 in Cassville.  After high school Keith worked at Stella Cheese Company in Cassville until going to work at John Deere Dubuque Works until retiring in 1995.  Keith enjoyed playing cards, trapping, and helping anybody he could; he was a handyman for everybody. 

Keith is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kay, of Cassville; three children, Scott (Robin) Wood of Paducah, KY; Michael Wood of Tampa, FL; and Missy (James) Pitzen of Platteville; four grandchildren, Samantha, Sara, Kaylen, and Sierra; two great-grandsons, Gavin and Ashton; and two sisters, Joann Pellock of Cassville and Janice Briggs of Madison.  He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Ray, Loren, Robert “Dean”, and Loyle.
