Ryan J. “Woody” Woodward, 28 of Platteville died on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at UW Hospital, Madison. Through Ryan's death he was able to be an organ and tissue donor to help many people in need, which during this time is giving his family great comfort.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Rev. Zayna Thompson will officiate. Burial will be at Lima Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory and after 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Ryan was born on September 11, 1988 at Mercy Hospital, Dubuque, son of Kevin “Woody” and Debra “Debi” (Langkamp) Woodward. Ryan graduated from Platteville High School in 2007 and attended Southwest Technical College, Fennimore, where he studied agricultural mechanics and business. He owned and operated Woodward Excavating, Platteville. Ryan had a huge heart and loved his family and friends. He was a proud father to his son, Owen, whom he loved to spend time with. He enjoyed fishing and hunting when he could, tractor pulling and was known to rescue animals and bring them to his parents farm.
He is survived by son, Owen John Purl Woodward, parents, Kevin “Woody” and Deb Langkamp of Platteville; grandmothers, Hazel Langkamp and Carolyn Woodward both of Platteville; aunts and uncles, Kristi and Tim Loeffelholz and Paul and Pam Langkamp and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ervin Langkamp and Kenneth Woodward and cousin, Joshua Langkamp.
