Christine “Chris” Janus, 81, of Belmont, formerly of South Milwaukee, died on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Park Place, Platteville. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral Home in South Milwaukee. Burial will be at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Cudahy, Wisconsin. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville and the Max A. Sass Funeral Home in South Milwaukee are assisting the family. Chris was born on March 13, 1936 in South Milwaukee, the daughter of Andrew and Veronica (Pinkowski) Kubera. Chris graduated from South Milwaukee in 1954. She was united in marriage to Harry Janus in 1958 in South Milwaukee. Chris worked for Ladish Company for 42 years. She enjoyed going for walks, gardening, cats, and traveling. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harry, of Belmont; sisters-in-law, Rose Mary (Gerald) Kuras of Greendale, WI and Lenore (Edward) Zimmerman of Waterford, WI; several nieces and one nephew; and good friends and neighbors, especially, Cappy and Cory. She was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father-in-law; four brothers; one sister; and one brother-in-law, Melvin (Rose) Janus.
